two-day, county-wide,
comprehensive, on-site orientation to community agencies for new
employees and other interested parties.

HAND TO HAND CLASSES
FREE
Classes for parents and guardians of children diagnosed
with a mental illness
This
is an eight-week education program to foster learning, healing
and empowerment among families of children with emotional/mental
/neurobiological disorders. Topics include understanding
your child's diagnosis, developing family coping skills,
counseling and therapy, medications, special educational needs
and juvenile justice and child protection agencies. CLASS
SIZE IS LIMITED!

PARENT POWER The
Family and Children First Council is sponsoring a series
of parenting workshops. The workshops, titled Parent
Power, are held on Thursdays from
6:30 to 7:30 pm. Everyone who attends receives
gifts related to the evening's topic and there are door
prizes for a lucky few! Topics and dates are: February
21, 2008 - "The
Tooth, the Whole Tooth and Nothing but the Tooth!"

held at State Support Team, Region 5 at the Eastwood

THE
SOLACE CENTER presents PARENTS
AND TEENS: WORKING IT OUT
Six weekly sessions that include both
parents and teens working individually and together to develop a
better understanding of the
challenges families face during the adolescent years and what
teens and parents need from each other.
Participants will learn:
- New ways of communicating
- Family problem solving
- Negotiating conflict
- How to have fun together
There is no cost and participants
will receive a stipend upon completion of the class.
