The Trumbull County Family and Children First Council meets at 10:30 in the Blue Room at Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority at 4076 Youngstown-Warren Road.  The meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

COUNTY-WIDE ORIENTATION PROGRAM
Provides a two-day, county-wide, comprehensive, on-site orientation to community agencies for new employees and other interested parties.

HAND TO HAND CLASSES  
FREE Classes for parents and guardians of children diagnosed with a mental illness  
          


Trumbull Memorial Hospital

This is an eight-week education program to foster learning, healing and empowerment among families of children with emotional/mental /neurobiological disorders.  Topics include understanding your child's diagnosis, developing family coping skills, counseling and therapy, medications, special educational needs and juvenile justice and child protection agencies.

PARENT POWER

The Family and Children First Council is sponsoring a series of parenting workshops.  The workshops, titled Parent Power, are held on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  Everyone who attends receives gifts related to the evening's topic and there are door prizes for a lucky few!  Topics and dates are:

February 21, 2008 - "The Tooth, the Whole Tooth and Nothing but the Tooth!"  This workshop will be held at State Support Team, Region 5 at the Eastwood Mall.  Please click here for a flyer about the workshop.

March 20 - "Fat is not Phat!"  Learn more about childhood obesity.  Location to be announced soon.

April 30 - "To Spank or not to Spank.  That is the Question!"  This workshop will be held at TCAP, located at 1230 Palmyra Road in Warren.
