WHAT: The Public Welfare Foundation (PWF) supports organizations that address human needs in disadvantaged communities, with emphasis on service, advocacy, and empowerment. The Foundation provides both general support and project-specific grants. Funding priorities are: 1) Community Development; 2) Health - including Mental Health Advocacy and Services, Health Advocacy, Access and Reform; and 3) Youth - including Employment, Training and Alternative Education, Early Intervention, Youth Leadership Development, and Violence Prevention.

State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Grants enable youth and educators to bring the positive benefits of service-learning to more young people across America. Service-learning is a teaching method that combines meaningful service with curriculum or program-based learning. Schools and organizations use service-learning as a tool to help youth build stronger academic skills, foster civic responsibility, and develop leadership skills. Applicants must be a certified teacher or professor who currently teaches in a public, private, faith-based, charter, or higher education institution within the fifty states or the District of Columbia; or be a school-based service-learning coordinator whose primary role is to coordinate service-learning projects in a school or university; or be a youth between the ages of five and twenty-five.

The Milagro Foundation
Supports underrepresented and underprivileged children and youth in the areas of the arts, education, and health. The Milagro Foundation seeks grant applications from community-based, grass-roots organizations that work with children and youth, especially those at risk due to such factors as poor health, illiteracy, or insufficient educational and cultural opportunities.
Grant awards range from $2,500 to $5,000. Grants are reviewed on an on-going basis and decisions are made in February.

Starbucks Foundation Offers Funding for Youth Literacy Programs
Through its Giving Voice program, the Starbucks Foundation, a philanthropic vehicle of the Starbucks Coffee Company, will fund programs for youth, ages 6-18, that integrate literacy with personal and civic action in the communities where they live.
The foundation supports registered, nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organizations in the United States, as well as Registered Charities in Canada, that deliver services to youth and address at least one of the program's action areas.
Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000.

Fund For Teachers -- Grant Program
The Fund For Teachers grants are awarded to full-time teachers who work with K-12 students and are based solely on merit and available funding.
